Lalu, Paswan, Mulayam meet to announce tie-up

Lucknow:

The troika of Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, RJD chief Lalu Yadav and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, addressed a joint meet in Lucknow on Friday to announce their alliance.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Lalu said, "It is not a front, we are part and parcel of UPA, and the UPA will form the government."

 

He also said that they have good relations with PM and Sonia, but are against some elements in Congress.

 

He added, "Mulayam is like my elder brother and we must forget that Mulayam saved the UPA government."

 

Announcing their coming together ahead of the general election, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said, "All past bitterness between us is over and this tie-up is not only for the Lok Sabha polls, but also assembly elections. Our battle is for the weaker sections."

 

Speaking on the issue of Sanjay Dutt not being given a chance to contest, he said that Dutt was stopped from contesting polls as part of a conspiracy.
