Srinagar: The security forces on Thursday arrested an armed militant of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) group in Baramulla district, a day after five militants were killed during an infiltration bid in Gurez sector.
The ultra was arrested and an AK assault rifle, one magazine, 20 rounds and a hand grenade were recovered from him at Gojarpathi villege near Sopore, 55 km from Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
In another operation, forces recovered an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) with two grenades and one GPS from Zakher Pathri near Machil sector of Kupwara district.
Speaking about Wednesday's foiled infiltration bid, the spokesman said a huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the five slain militants in Gurez sector of Bandipora district in North Kashmir.
Five AK assault rifles, 19 magazines, 200 rounds, two pistols, three UBGLs, a satellite phone, five maps, four GPS sheets and two road maps were recovered from the site, he said.
