Left are my old friends: Nitish Kumar

Patna: It seems that Bihar Chief Minister and BJP ally Nitish Kumar is keeping all his options open.

Talking to reporters in Patna, he categorically ruled out any alliance with the Congress, but when asked about going with the Left post-polls, he said it is difficult to anticipate post-poll scenario, but Left parties are his friends.

Nitish's comment holds significance in the wake of Left leader Sitaram Yechury's statement in Kolkata where he said that political parties do not take their position on the basis of phone call or friendship but on the basis of their ideology.

But this is not the first time Nitish Kumar has indicated he may not be with the NDA for long. In an interview with NDTV's Barkha Dutt in April, he indicated that it was impossible to anticipate post-poll scenario, saying he is with the NDA today but tomorrow is unpredictable.
