Jalpaiguri:
A leopard which attacked nine persons, including a forest official, after it strayed into villages in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district on Thursday died during tranquilisation, officials said.
The leopard had strayed from Shulkapara forest into Luksan Bazar area and first attacked a person who was picking flowers.
The animal then attacked other people following a commotion.
As forest department officials reached the spot, the animal attacked one of them as well, forest officials said.
The big cat was later on caught by the personnel but died after tranquilisation.
All the injured were taken to the local primary health centre.
