Srinagar:

The Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT) has issued a warning to the people of Kashmir against voting in the coming election.

The LeT has threatened to carry out suicide attacks during the polls.

The voting in the state of Jammu and Kashmir begins on April 30. The Anantnag constituency votes on that day while Srinagar will cast votes on May 7. The Baramulla constituency goes to polls on May 13.

Meanwhile, two militants and a woman operative of the Lashkar-e-Toiba succumbed to their injuries at a hospital in Doda district, following an encounter on Saturday.

The 22-year-old woman operative, Zahida Banoo, was killed in the fierce encounter along with Lashkar commanders Nisar alias Shehbaz and Khubair. As per police sources, Zahida was an accomplice of Shehbaz.

The two AK rifles recovered during the incident are the same that Zaffarullah Khan, a jawan of the Territorial Army, escaped with in March after he deserted the army to join the Laskhkar.

The incident has raised fears that the Lashkar-e-Toiba is now training women cadres as well.
