New Delhi: As the Babri report raises a storm in Parliament for yet another day, now a searing attack from the BJP. The party has called the report a dud and entirely devoid of credibility.
"It is a report which is devoid of any credibility, its futility media has referred to as the dud report. I cannot help but say this report is a fraud on the fact finding process," said Arun Jaitley.
Speaking at length in the Rajya Sabha, BJP leader Arun Jaitley took on retired judge Justice Liberhan, the author of the report, as well.
A lot of questions have been raised about the then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao's role at the time and the fact that the report largely lets the central government off the hook.
Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh said Rao's role cannot be seen as separate from the Congress during the Babri demolition.
Initiating the debate, Amar Singh said both Congress and BJP were equally responsible for the incident of December 6, 1992.
He said while BJP had sown the seeds of hatred, Congress and the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao remained a mute spectator.
