New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj has termed the Liberhan Commission Report on Babri Masjid demolition as perverse.
"It is a political report by an opportunist," said Swaraj.
Speaking in Lok Sabha during the discussion on the Liberhan report on Tuesday, the Deputy Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha said that the commission took 17 years instead of three months to file its report, and that leaves 'us at the same place where we were 17 years ago'.
Defending former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who has been named in the Liberhan report, she said, "If Vajpayee is responsible, then how can Rao's name be cleared?"
She further alleged that despite no evidence, the report says the demolition was a conspiracy.
"Report states CBI could not find proof of conspiracy. Sushma: There is no evidence but still report says it was a conspiracy," she said.
The BJP leader also alleged that the BJP was compelled to extend the panel's deadline.
