Speaking to NDTV, Justice Liberhan has said that he did not leak his report on the demolition of the Babri Masjid to the press. The report, which indicts the BJP's top rung, has created shockwaves in Parliament today. Liberhan says the government has two copies of his report.
Various opposition leaders, led by LK Advani, have demanded that the government explain who leaked the Liberhan report to the media, before it was tabled in Parliament. The BJP's Arun Jaitley, among others, described this as a breach of privilege of the House."
The report was scheduled to be shared in Parliament, along with an Action Taken Report (ATR) in the current winter session of Parliament.
Home Minister P Chidambaram says the report was not shared with the press by anyone in his Ministry.
