New Delhi:
After Amar Singh's exit, the Samajwadi Party is slowly but expectedly heading to an even larger split - those for and against him. On Sunday, Amar Singh's protege, Jaya Prada broke her silence on his resignation and spoke against the party's treatment of him.
"I won't say anything against Mulayam, but if others continue to use the type of language they are using, we won't tolerate it. If anything happens to Amar Singh, the party will be responsible for it," Jaya Prada said.
With the party chief Mulayam Singh opting to sit outside the press conference, speaking for him was party general secretary Ramashray Khushwaha.
"This is indiscipline. Making these allegations is not right and I will ask party chief Mulayam Singh to take strict action. Amar Singh and Jaya Prada are now history as far as the Samajwadi Party is concerned," Ramashray said.
Mulayam Singh preferred to stay away from it all while his juniors chipped away at the party he built. "I have not heard anything," is what the SP chief had to say.
