Light Rains Expected in Punjab, Haryana on Saturday: Weather Department

Chandigarh: Cloudy conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana with maximum temperatures today hovering below normal levels in the neighbouring states.

Union Territory Chandigarh had maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, down by a degree below normal, the Meteorological department reported. Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwnai, Hisar and Narnaul recorded maximum at 32.4 degrees Celsius, 33.4 degrees Celsius, 34.5 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius respectively. On the other hand, Karnal district received 0.8mm of rainfall, while the maximum temperature settled at 32.4 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded maximum at 33.4 degrees Celsius, down by one degree while Ludhiana and Patiala had mercury levels as high as 32.4 degrees Celsius and 33.1 degrees Celsius respectively, down by up to two degrees below normal. The weather department has predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places in the two states in the next 24 hours.
