Chatra : Four members of a family, including two children, were killed when lightning struck at Hadiatand village within the limits of Kunda police station in Chatra district.
A couple and their two children including a four-year-old son had taken shelter under a tree near their home when rain accompanied by thunderbolt struck last evening, said Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar.
All four suffered grievous injuries and were rushed to a hospital in nearby Pratapur block, but doctors declared them brought dead.
Mr Kumar said the district administration would recommend for compensation to the kin of the victims.
