Etah, Uttar Pradesh:
Two persons have been arrested and 1,500 cartons of liquor worth Rs 36 lakh, allegedly being smuggled from Etah to West Bengal, were seized from their possession.
Gurjeet, a resident of Ambarapur village and Angraj Singh, a native of Haryana were arrested yesterday in Etah, after their truck was intercepted, Station House Officer (SHO) Vinod Kumar said.
Liquor worth Rs 36 lakh was seized from the duo, he said, adding that the accused confessed that the alcohol was meant to be smuggled into West Bengal.
