An official at Ghaziabad's Dasna jail said Rajesh Talwar will work at the jail hospital and Nupur will teach women and children in the prison.
The dentist couple had read novels through the night despite being advised to sleep by the doctors. "We are trying to give them psychological therapy," said jail superintendent Vireshraj Sharma.
The Talwars' lawyer has said the couple will appeal against the verdict at the Allahabad High Court and will 'fight till their last drop of blood.'
The CBI had sought the death penalty for the dentist couple, classifying this case as the "rarest of rare." But the court rejected the maximum penalty, saying they were not a threat to society.
The Talwars' only child, 13-year-old Aarushi, was found with her throat slit in her bedroom at the family apartment in Noida on May 16, 2008. The help Hemraj was declared the suspect until his corpse was found on the rooftop next morning.
Convicting the parents, Judge Shyam Lal accepted the CBI's theory that the Talwars killed Hemraj and Aarushi with a golf club after finding them in "an objectionable position" at their apartment in 2008.
The judge said the Talwars were "freaks in the history of mankind where the father and mother became the killer of their own progeny."
Rajesh Talwar was arrested seven days after the murder and spent two months in jail before being granted bail when the CBI said it had no evidence against him. Later, his wife Nupur was jailed for five months for ignoring orders to appear in court.
There is no forensic or material evidence against the Talwars. The judge accepted CBI's argument based on the "last-seen theory" -- which holds that the victims were last seen with the Talwars on the night that the murders were committed.
The Talwars had in 2010 challenged the CBI's request to end the investigation over lack of clear evidence; the judge then ruled the case would continue and the couple found themselves on trial for murder.

Judge Shyam Lal has found Nupur and Rajesh Talwar guilty of murdering their teen daughter Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj at their home near Dehi in 2008. Today, the judge sentenced the dentist couple to life in prison.
Very sad. They should find out the truth. Arun Kumar had brought out the truth but then what happened?
The team changed, everything changed
We are fighting for the truth and we want the truth
Nupur Talwar's father:
Has the court tried to find the truth? What people have done is first they have built up a framework of a story and they fabricate evidence

The Talwars were taken from court back to the jail in Ghaizabad near Delhi, where they were moved yesterday after they were convicted of murder and destruction of evidence. Jail officials say Mrs Talwar has been unwell with high blood pressure.
- The punishment is very correct
- CBI was saying this to be a rarest of rare case; but it was not a planned or a clod blooded murder
- The judge has rightly held this case
- Because of sudden provocation, the father has done this
- There were certain loopholes in the trial
- Dr. Rajesh and Nupur Talwar have been sent to jail as convicted prisoners by the honorable court
- I have ordered to read the details of their verdict
- According to Uttar Pradesh jail provisions, they will be kept like other prisoners
- If they have any special demands like books, it will only be granted after reviewing as per Uttar Pradesh jail provision rules
- Media or people have no right to reach to conclusions
- Higher courts will appreciate the same evidence

Due to the commotion during the order, one of the policeman on security had an altercation with the guard of Naresh Yadav, Hemraj's lawyer. Lawyers and policemen got into an altercation after that.
- For the agents who asked for the closure of this case, for them to turn around and ask for the death sentence is shocking
- I think it is a shocking, sad day for India
- Never seen such a witch-hunt and this is a blatant abuse of power
- There has been no fresh evidence introduced. Critical evidence which could have gone in Talwars favour was not allowed to be introduced
- After examining evidence on record, I feel they should be honourably acquitted
- Talwars determined to fight till the last drop of their blood, won't give up
- It's a case of grave and sudden provocation by the admission of the CBI... how can it be called 'rarest of rare'
- It will be a straight argument for life imprisonment since that is the minimum sentence as per law
- We will try and convince the court that it's not the rarest of rare case. Even CBI says it wasn't a pre-planned murder, not cold blooded
- The full judgement has not come out to us. But the way in the end the order says Rajesh was drinking in the night, allegedly after the murder due to an anxiety attack. No one said in the morning that he looked drunk

- Doctors feel Nupur Talwar hasn't eaten and slept properly in days
- She had spent around six months in Dasna Jail earlier before she got out on bail. Back then, she appeared strong and cooperated with jail authorities, this time she hasn't spoken to anyone
- My husband fought for the country, served the country. He expects a fair judgement
- CBI spoiled the case
- My husband's health has gotten worse because of the verdict
- CBI hiding the facts
- Why did they give a clean chit to the servants

She is being attended to by doctors.
There is absolutely no evidence to show that the parents committed the crime. There are other factors at play in bringing out this judgement. The CBI made various insinuations, but there was no evidence. Talwars have never misguided the Noida police.
"In addition to this, Dr Rajesh Talwar has also been found guilty of furnishing false information to the police regarding the murder of his daughter by Hemraj."
"The parents are also found guilty of secreting and obliterating the evidence of the commission of the murders to screen themselves from legal punishment."
"The parents are the best protectors of their own children. That is the order of human nature but there have been freaks in the history of mankind where the father and mother became the killer of their own progeny."
"Now is the time to say omega in this case, to perorate it is proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused are the perpetrators of the crime in question."
Noida police did not maintain sanctity of the crime scene. How do you blame the parents of the victim for your own inefficiency? 22 prints had been lifted from the house but not one was identified. Have we proven beyond reasonable doubt that these two people did it? I think NO. There is absence of a clear cut motive... the motive attributed is not correct.
We respect the verdict but the Talwars' have the right to approach a superior court. And I hope that the appellate court after examining all the facts will say that they haven't committed the crime.
Disappointed with this. The trial was unfair.I am deeply grieved at what happened in court. They were an extremely loving family. I don't see the potential of them being guilty in crime.
- I wonder why we had the trial at all. Their minds are prejudiced
- No one wants to look at the facts and evidence
- The fate of two people rest on a so-called typing error
- 100 lies shouldn't make a truth, but this is what has happened
- The truth has gotten buried in layers and layers of lies to save the prestige of CBI
- Definitely not the end of the road but seems like it will be a long journey
- We will take a call once we get to read the verdict completely
- After the conviction, Rajesh said please carry on with the fight, don't give up.
