New Delhi: The fourth day of the month-long second leg of the budget session of parliament is expected to be a busy one. The Opposition is likely to protest over the floor test in Goa where Manohar Parrikar has been asked to prove his majority at 11.30 am today. Manohar Parrikar resigned as the Defense Minister to return to his home state as Chief Minister for the fourth time. Mr Parrikar is confident of proving the majority on the support given to him by his alliance partners - Goa Forward Party (GFP), Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Independents. Parrikar, whose party has 13 MLAs, had staked claim to form the government on Sunday mustering the support of the GFP and MGP besides two Independents, which together took the tally of the combine to 21.

Bills scheduled to be tabled in the Lok Sabha include a discussion and voting on the demands for grants under the control of the Ministry of Defence for 2017-18. In the Rajya Sabha, Sushma Swaraj is expected to make a statement on the killing of Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy off the coast of Tamil Nadu. This is the second consecutive day when she will be talking about the killing of Indian citizens abroad. Yesterday she informed and updated parliament about the shootings in the United States, especially the Kansas shooting in which Srinivas Kuchibhotla was killed.
