G20 Summit: PM Modi arriving in Bali.

The annual G20 Summit opened in Bali on Tuesday with world leaders set to discuss over the next two days challenges triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic and more recently topped by Russia's war in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed at the summit venue by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, ahead of the formal opening of the summit.

"Recover Together, Recover Stronger. Indonesian President @jokowi welcomes PM @narendramodi for the G20 Bali Summit. Detailed deliberations on contemporary global challenges including food & energy security and health are on the @g20org Summit agenda today," Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet.

After the meeting in Indonesia, India will take over the Group of 20 presidency for one year.

PM Modi Interacts With Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak And Emmanuel Macron

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had informal interactions with US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron and several other global leaders on Tuesday on the sidelines of the G20 summit here and exchanged views on a range of issues.

In an address at the G20 summit here, Modi said that climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic, the developments in Ukraine and the global problems associated with it have caused havoc in the world and rued that the global supply chains are in "ruins".

PM Modi To Attend Session On Health, Address Indian Community At G20 Today

Prime minister Narendra Modi will participate in the G20 working session on "Health" today and will also address the Indian community at Bali, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

"PM has also met in his intervention in the session. He will now go for the leader's lunch, a little later. Later in the afternoon, we have session 2, which is on health. Thereafter, he will address the Indian community. And then on a welcoming dinner in the evening," MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a video shared on Twitter.

He also said that there will be another session tomorrow, which is on digital transformation and later on, along with the other leaders, PM Modi will visit Mangroove forest.

At G20, PM Calls For Ceasefire In Ukraine

"I have repeatedly said that we have to find a way to return to the path of ceasefire and diplomacy in Ukraine," PM Modi said.

"Over the past century, the Second World War wreaked havoc in the world. After that, the leaders of that time made a serious effort to take the path of peace. Now it's our turn. 

"The onus of creating a new world order for the post-Covid period lies on our shoulders. The need of the hour is to show concrete and collective resolve to ensure peace, harmony and security in the world.

"I am confident that next year when the G20 meets in the holy land of Buddha and Gandhi, we will all agree to convey a strong message of peace to the world," he said.

PM Modi Arrives At Venue For G20 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at Apurva Kempisnky Hotel in Bali to participate in the Food and Energy Security Session at the 17th G20 Leaders Summit. Indonesia's President Joko Widodo greeted PM Modi at the venue.

The two leaders shook hands as they met at Apurva Kempisnky hotel in Bali. PM Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to Bali to attend the G20 Leaders Summit. After arriving in Bali, PM Modi tweeted, "Grateful to the Indian community for the warm welcome in Bali!"
