Prime Minister Narendra Modi today embarked his two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a focus on boosting cooperation in various sectors, including energy, ports, fintech, digital infrastructure, railways, and investment flows.
PM Modi addressed the Indian community at the grand 'Ahlan Modi' event held in Abu Dhabi. He praised UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and thanked the people present at the event for the rousing welcome.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi held discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on taking forward Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Doha in Qatar after his visit to the UAE ends.
Ahead of his departure, the prime minister took to social media platform X and said he is looking forward to meeting with his "brother" the President of UAE with whom he shares a good rapport.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the iconic BAPS Hindu Mandir, which is the first-ever Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Apart from inaugurating the temple, PM Modi will also address the Indian community at an event in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

"I believe in the potential of India. Modi in his 3rd term has promised to make India the 3rd largest economy of the world. Modi ki guarantee means guarantee pura hone ki guarantee...Those who went to India recently can see that the country is changing rapidly.," said PM at 'Ahlan Modi' event.
"The way President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed takes care of you in UAE and the way he cares about your interests, it's rare to see that and that's why people are here to thank him for that. I'm privileged that UAE honoured me with their highest civilian award, this is an honour dedicated for every one of you. Whenever I meet my brother, UAE president, he praises you and your contribution to UAE's development. During Covid, I said we're bringing Indians back, he asked me not to worry," said PM at 'Ahlan Modi' event.
"It was the first visit of an Indian PM in three decades to UAE in 2015. The world of diplomacy was new to me. Then Crown Prince and current President came to pick me up at the airport. The warmth and glitter in the eyes of people is something I can't forget. The first visit made me feel like I've come to the house a person whom I'm close to.
