India and Britain have a special relation unlike any other country in the world. Take your watch and hold it upside down, and from Britain it's now India time.
- A few days ago in Haryana where the sex ration is skewed. I launched Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in Haryana.
- There one Sarpanch launched Selfie with Daughter, I praised that. And I was surprised it spread all over the world.

- People are astonished by how we live in unity despite so many differences in language, culture, food.
- Diversity is our specialty, our pride & our strength.
- Now take the Sikh brothers from Punjab. They have such stories of valor and sacrifice to tell. So many of them sacrificed their lives for our country.
- And they Sikh community has a specialty, they have always protected mother India and have also toiled to feed India. Never took a step back.
- The soil of London has seen India's fight for independence. One of those people were Shyamji Krishna Varma. He was barrister.
- He was banned by the BAR for his fight for India's freedom. I thank PM Cameron that he overturned that decision.
- Shyamji Krishna Varma was fighting for India's freedom from here. He encouraged young people in India such as Vir Sawarkar.
- I have spoken to PM Cameron in the past. And he always praises the Indian community here so much.
- It seems that he is totally at one with the Indian community.
- Two vibrant democracies are celebrating a very special day.
- I was told London would be cold, but not this much. Your warm welcome makes me feel at home.
- I am thankful to Mr Cameron for his kind words.

- With this in view we have launched 'Make in India'. To make India a global manufacturing hub. We have fast tracked approvals.
- To enhance the flow of foreign Direct Investment, we have liberalised FDI norms in various sectors - like 100 per cent FDI in Railways.
- We have now dropped most of FDI proposal under the automatic route.
- With this round of reforms, India is one of the most open countries for FDI.
- We have taken decisive steps to remove long pending concerns of foreign investors.
- Through PPP (Public Private Partnership) we have drawn investment in sectors where only government used to invest.
- We are keen to learn from your experience in implementing PPP projects.
- UK and India have known each other very well. Our system of governance are very similar.
- Our systems and people know how to integrate. We know how to grow with each other.
- That's why UK is India's most important trade partner.
- And this is not one sided. India is the third largest source of FDI in UK. But there is still significant potential.
- Our growth rate last year was 7.3 per cent. World bank has forecast a growth rate of 7.5 per cent.
- India went up by 12 ranks on 'ease of doing business' in one go.
- The UK will help you build great cities, smart cities like Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh

- Our economic partnership will grow by leaps and bounds. We will see more investment and trade.
- We will explore mysteries of science and harness technology. We will realise opportunities of the digital world.
- Housing for all, bank accounts, connected and prosper villages. These are goals with a definite date and not just a mirage of hope.
- Change has begun with us, there is transparency and accountability in governance. There is speed in decision making.
- This year alone we have had three exercises together. Your support has helped India take its rightful place in the global arena.
- It takes an Indian icon Tata to run a British icon and become the nation's largest private sector employer and UK remains the preferred choice of Indian students.
- And many founders of the modern India, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh passed through the doors here.
- On my way to here, I paid homage to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the British Parliament.
- We have been blessed enough to have been touched by his ideals.
- I stand here today not as a leader of a nation in this temple of democracy, but I stand here as a fellow.
- I was reminded of a question I was asked on a tour abroad: why is there a Gandhi statue outside UK parliament?
I said Britishers are wise enough to learn from him, and Indians are generous enough to share him.
- I am truly honoured to speak here.
- I thank the speaker for opening the door to this magnificent Royal Court.
- Democracy has to demonstrate it can respect free speech-speaker
- India will be the most populous country in the world and is destined to become a world leader.
First, to set the record straight, let me inform you I came here in 2003 and received a lot of welcome and respect in the ceremonies here. UK has never stopped me from coming here, they have never imposed any restrictions. I could not come for my own time constraints but that is a different matter. So this a wrong perception, please correct it.
India is the land of Buddha, India is the land of Gandhi. And that is why in our culture, there something in our veins that we don't accept anything against the primary values of our society. And that is why no matter in which corner of India something happens (koi bhi ghatna ghate), no matter if that is one incident, two or three in the land of 1.25 crore every such incident is serious we don't tolerate it at any cost. The law takes strict action and will do. And India is a vibrant democracy that under its constitution gives all the security to every citizen. And we are committed to that.
David Cameron: I have been wanting to see strengthening of relationship over the last 10 years. India has been a huge investor in India. Britain is a bigger investor than US in India.
- I consider our defence ties with the UK very important. I believe India will be an important partner in this.
- We have also decided to cooperate in combatting climate change.
- Today we have signed a civil nuclear deal. This is a sign of our trust in each other.
As world's oldest and largest democracies, we are not realizing the true potential of this relationship. That is what PM Modi and I want to change.
