Election Results 2022 Live Updates: BJP Wins 4 Key Elections, KCR's Party Bags Telangana's Munugode

Election Results 2022: In Telangana, K Chandrashekar's Rao's Telangana Rashtriya Samithi has won Munugode after a close contest with the BJP.

Election Results: Counting begins at 8 am and results are usually expected by noon.

The BJP has won in Uttar Pradesh's Gola Gokrannath, Haryana's Adampur and Odisha's Dhamnagar. The party also retained Bihar's Gopalganj assembly seat which falls in the home district of party leader and former Chief Minister Lalu Yadav, the father of Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

The RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal), meanwhile, has won the Mokama assembly seat by over 16,000 votes while the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction won the Mumbai's Andheri East seat by over 67,000 votes.

In Telangana, K Chandrashekar's Rao's Telangana Rashtriya Samithi has won Munugode after a close contest with the BJP.

While the results are likely to upset the math for current state governments, the contests are seen as a battle for family legacy in Haryana and prestige battles in Telangana, Bihar and Maharashtra.

With regional parties putting up a united front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections - just a year and a half away - the poll results could serve as booster shots, or perception busters, depending on the results

The fierce battle is between Bharatiya Janata Party and regional parties such as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Andheri (East) bypoll result shows people rejected BJP's politics of horse-trading: Maharashtra Congress chief
Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole on Sunday said the result of the byelection to the Andheri (East) constituency here showed that people rejected the Bharatiya Janata Party's "politics of horse-trading and terrorising political opponents".

Rutuja Latke, the candidate of the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray, on Sunday won the bypoll by bagging more than 66,000 votes. The Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the constituents of the erstwhile Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by Uddhav Thackeray, had supported Latke's candidature.

Bihar bypoll: JD(U) severed ties with BJP, went to RJD but couldn't defeat BJP, says BJP MLA
Bihar's former minister and BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday claimed that the party will win 40 seats from the state in the next Lok Sabha polls.

The bypolls were held on November 3 for seven assembly seats in six states and the counting started Sunday morning.

"JD(U) severed ties with BJP and went to RJD but couldn't defeat BJP in Gopalganj. Clear message that even together they can't defeat BJP," he said.

TRS government has made bypoll matter of prestige as BJP is rising: K Laxman
While counting for the Telangana bypoll is underway, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP K Laxman on Sunday said that the state government has made this poll a matter of their prestige as BJP is rising in Hyderabad.

"The situation is different in Telangana. The state government has made this poll a matter of their prestige as BJP is rising here. Only BJP can fight TRS," he said.

K Laxman further said that there would be a BJP wave in the state in the days to come.

Bihar bypolls: RJD retains Mokama, BJP keeps Gopalganj
The ruling 'Mahagathbandhan' and the opposition NDA in Bihar remained evenly poised on Sunday as the RJD and the BJP retained their respective sitting assembly seats of Mokama and Gopalganj.

The by-polls were the first test of strength since the upheaval in August this year that brought the Mahagathbandhan, helmed by the RJD, to power and ousted the BJP.

The RJD saw its victory margin fall in Mokama and fell short of a win in party president Lalu Prasad's home district of Gopalganj, which the BJP retained, albeit by the skin of its teeth.

It was not really a contest after the BJP withdrew its candidate following appeals by several parties for support to Rutuja Latke. She also had the backing of the Congress and the NCP, partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi that crashed after the Sena coup.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday congratulated Bhavya Bishnoi, son of Kuldeep Bishnoi, pitted from the Adampur Constituency after winning the bypolls.

Odisha Election: BJP Widens Lead Over BJD In Dhamnagar
BJP candidate Suryabanshi Suraj expanded his lead to 6,755 votes over his BJD rival Abanti Das for Dhamnagar bypoll in Odisha's Bhadrak district, Election Commission (EC) trends revealed on Sunday.

According to the EC, Suraj secured 58,332 votes after the 13th round of counting, while Das bagged 51,577. Congress nominee Baba Harekrushna Sethi got 2,602 votes.

TRS minister for state energy department G Jagdish Reddy expressed his anger over the delay in the declaration of round-wise election counting results of the Munugode by-poll.

The minister complained about the delay and asked officials to announce results after every round of counting.
