There's been yet another train accident in Mumbai, the fourth in nine days.
Two bogies of a local train entering CST station derailed just outside platform no. 6 on Friday morning.
Fortunately, it was moving at a very slow speed when the coaches jumped the tracks, so there were no casualties. The incident happened at 7:15 am.
There has been a series of train accidents in Mumbai recently.
Just two days ago, another train had derailed in peak morning hours. Five coaches of a local from Kalyan entering CST derailed; no one was injured but coaches and the track were severely damaged leading to disruption of Central Railway services.
The same day, eight coaches of the Mysore-Ajmer express also derailed near Pune in the evening, injuring five passengers.
Yesterday, a panel controlling signals at Kalyan malfunctioned in the morning peak hours so no trains could be given signals while reaching or leaving Kalyan. This led to delays till afternoon.
