General Election 2019 Highlights: Amit Shah In Bihar, UP; Priyanka Gandhi Vadra In UP

Election 2019: BJP President Amit Shah will be campaigning for the ruling party today in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh as part of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, too, will be in UP.

Lok Sabha Election Updates: Five Bihar Lok Sabha seats will go to the polls in the fifth phase on May 6.

BJP President Amit Shah will be campaigning for the ruling party today in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh as part of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. He will address two public rallies in Bihar's Sitamarhi and Saran, followed by rallies in UP's Barabanki and Mohanlalganj in Lucknow district. A total 82 candidates are left in the fray in five Bihar Lok Sabha seats that will go to the polls in the fifth phase on May 6. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, too, will be in UP where she will address a public meeting in Bahraich's Nanpara. She will then head to Mohammadi where she will hold a 1.5-km long roadshow.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who today visited UP's Amethi, her brother and party president Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha constituency, told reporters, "Nationalism is to solve the problems of the people. When people raise their issues, they (government) suppress them. This is neither democracy nor nationalism." She also asserted that people of Amethi have never begged before anyone. "I've been coming here since I was 12. The people of Amethi and Raebareli have a lot of pride," she told the media.

The Trinamool Congress has written to the Election Commission of India over the incident of wrestler 'The Great Khali' campaigning for BJP's Jadavpur MP candidate Anupam Hazra.
