6th Phase Lok Sabha Election: Polling was held in 59 seats spread across Delhi and six states today.

Voting for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha election in 59 constituencies ended at 7 pm today. Over 10.17 crore voters across seven states will decide the fate of 979 candidates by casting their votes today. Voting took place for 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, eight seats each in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.

The fate of several prominent politicians, including Union Minister Harsh Vardhan, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, will be decided as 59 constituencies across six states and the national capital voted in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha polls today.

The key contestants from Madhya Pradesh are Narendra Singh Tomar, Ram Niwas Rawat, Jyotiraditya Scindia, KP Yadav, Digvijay Singh, Sadhvi Pragya. Uttar Pradesh will see Maneka Gandhi, Sanjay Singh, Rita Bahugana Joshi, Rajendra Pratap Singh, Yogesh Shukla,  Akilesh Yadav, Dinesh Lal Yadav in the contest. In Haryana, Dushyant Chautala, Bhavya Bishnoi, Brijendra Singh are in the fray. In West Bengal more than 15 thousand polling booths have been set up to conduct smooth elections.

Jharkhand voter turnout

Jharkhand on Sunday recorded 65.17 per cent polling for four of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, an official says. Polling was peaceful with no untoward incident being reported from any constituency.

Polling In West Bengal

Nearly 80 per cent of the 1,33,69,749 electorate exercised their franchise till 5pm in eight Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal, an
election official has said.

"Except some incidents of disturbances in Keshpur, polling is mostly peaceful. We have sought reports from the district officials about the incidents," he says.

Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Maneka Gandhi Warns Gathbandhan Rival

Union Minister Maneka Gandhi was caught on camera arguing with a rival candidate at Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, from where she is contesting as a BJP candidate, as voting took place in the sixth round of the national election. Maneka Gandhi told Sonu Singh, the candidate of the Samajwadi Party-Bahujan Samaj Party alliance, that his supporters were threatening voters. The two leaders fought standing on either side of a Toyota Fortuner, pointing fingers at each other and arguing. Maneka Gandhi was heard warning her rival that his ''dabbangai (bullying)" won't work but Sonu Singh denied her charge. Supporters of the SP-BSP gathbandhan raised slogans in their candidate's support before the two leaders went their way.

2019 Indian General Elections: 22.87 Per Cent Polling For 10 Lok Sabha Seats In Haryana

A voter turnout of 22.87 per cent was recorded till 11 AM in ten constituencies of Haryana Sunday in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Union ministers Rao Inderjit Singh and Krishan Pal Gurjar are among 223 candidates in the fray. Polling began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm in 10 parliamentary constituencies which are going to polls in the single phase, officials said.

Election 2019: 16% Polling In 8 Bengal Lok Sabha Seats 

Over 16 per cent people voted across eight Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal today where polling for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election was underway amid reports of violence that left a BJP activist dead. An electorate of around 1,33,56,964 is eligible to decide the fate of 83 candidates. The polling started at 7 am and would continue till 6 p.m. Violence was reported from parts of Bengal, even before the polling started, as a middle-aged BJP activist was killed in Jhargram, Bengal's tribal heartland.

General Elections 2019: 20.93 Per cent Turnout Till 11 am In Madhya Pradesh

An average 20.93 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 11 am in eight Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh where polling was underway on Sunday. Voting was underway since 7 am in a peaceful manner in Bhopal, Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha and Rajgarh constituencies in the third phase of elections in the state, state Chief Electoral Officer V L Kantha Rao said. The voting figures till 11 am were: Morena 13.88 per cent, Bhind 17.64 per cent, Gwalior 16.86 per cent, Guna 25.08 per cent, Sagar 22.33 per cent, Vidisha 23.69 per cent, Bhopal 23.58 per cent and Rajgarh 25.16 per cent, he said.

Lok Sabha Polls Phase 6: Voter Turnout Highest In West Bengal Till 9 am

As polling began in 59 parliamentary constituencies across the nation for the penultimate and sixth phase of general elections, West Bengal saw the highest voter turnout in the initial hours of voting despite instances of violence, while Delhi and Haryana saw tepid voter turnout. As of 9 am today, West Bengal witnessed 16.66 per cent voting, while Jharkhand recorded second highest voter turnout of 14.97 per cent.

Lok Sabha Elections: Madhya Pradesh Votes For 8 Lok Sabha Seats

Voting was underway in Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal and Rajgarh Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh today, with the Congress and the BJP being the main contestants. The state poses a major challenge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as it had lost power after 15 years in Assembly elections last year. There are 138 candidates and 1.44 crore voters in Sunday's exercise.  The issues of farm and rural distress are dominant. The constituency of Bhopal is the most keenly watched as former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh of the Congress is in the fray against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur of BJP who is an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.

Lok Sabha Election: Slow Start To Polling In Uttar Pradesh

Voting was yet to pick up in the first two hours of polling in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of eastern UP where SP President Akhilesh Yadav and Union minister Maneka Gandhi are among key contestants. The average poll percentage was 9.28 per cent, a state election office spokesperson said. While Basti parliamentary constituency recorded the highest turnout of 11.40 per cent, enthusiasm among voters was the least in Domariyaganj, where 7.60 per cent of eligible voters cast their ballots till 9 am. Altogether, 177 candidates are contesting in these 14 constituencies, where 2.53 crore people are eligible to vote at 16,998 polling centres.

Lok Sabha Polls 2019: Polling Underway For 10 Lok Sabha Seats In Haryana

Polling in ten constituencies of Haryana in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, which will seal the fate of 223 candidates, including Union ministers Rao Inderjit Singh and Krishan Pal Gurjar. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was among the early voters in Karnal. 

Haryana's Joint Chief Electoral Officer Inder Jeet said over 1.80 crore people are eligible to vote in the state. Of them, 97,16,516 are male, 83,40,173 female and 207 transgenders.Over one lakh of the total voters are physically challenged and special facilities have been provided for them, he said. Altogether, 223 candidates, just 11 of them women, are in the fray. Prominent among them are Union ministers of state Rao Inderjit Singh from Gurgaon and Krishan Pal Gurjar from Faridabad. Both of them are seeking re-election.  Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a sitting Congress MLA from Rohtak district, is again trying his luck to enter the Lower House of Parliament, but this time from Sonipat.
