New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today filed his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Before filing the papers, PM Modi, who is eyeing a hattrick in the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, offered prayers and performed aarti at Dashwamedh Ghat.
He then took a cruise ride to the Namo Ghat and reached the Kaal Bhairav temple to offer his prayers
Several senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister Amit Shah and party's national president JP Nadda, were at the collectorate for his nomination filing. Many members of the BJP's NDA were also present.
Varanasi will go to polls in the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha polls on June 1.

"Honoured By Presence Of Our Valued NDA Allies In Kashi": PM ModiPrime Minister Modi today said that he was "honoured" by the presence of his "valued NDA allies" in Varanasi today.
"I am honoured by the presence of our valued NDA allies in Kashi today. Our alliance represents a commitment to national progress and fulfilling regional aspirations. We will work together for the progress of India in the years to come," he posted on X, and shared pictures with his the ruling coalition's members.
Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma, NCP leader Praful Patel, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular founder Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha, UP minister and NISHAD party chief Sanjay Nishad, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Omprakash Rajbhar, RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary, LJP (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan, Anbumani Ramadoss, GK Vasan, Devanathan Yadav, Tushar Vellappalli and Atul Bora were among those NDA members who were present at the collectorate for PM Modi's nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.
"Pace Of Work Will Get Even Faster": PM Modi After Filing NominationPrime Minister Narendra Modi today filed his nomination from Varanasi Lok Sabha seats for the third time and said that it is an "honour" to serve the people of this "historic seat". In a post on X, he also said that the pace of work will get "even faster" in the coming times.
"Filed my nomination papers as a candidate for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. It is an honour to serve the people of this historic seat. With the blessings of the people, there have been remarkable achievements over the last decade. This pace of work will get even faster in the times to come," he wrote on X.
PM Modi in Varanasi Live: The Four Proposers Of PM's NominationThe four proposers of PM Narendra Modi's nomination from Varanasi were Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri, Baijnath Patel, Lalchand Kushwaha and Sanjay Sonkar.
While Mr Shastri was the one who decided the auspicious time for the consecration event at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Mr Patel has been a long-time RSS functionary.
Mr Kushwaha hails from the OBC category and Mr Sonkar, a Dalit, is the general secretary of the BJP's Varanasi district unit.
Among the four proposers, Mr Shastri and Mr Patel were present during PM Modi's nomination filing.
PM Modi Nomination: "NDA's Unity Is Its Strength", Says Chirag PaswanLok Janshakti Party (LJP) national president Chirag Paswan said that the support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nomination filing is an example of the unity of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
Mr Paswan, who was among scores of NDA leaders present in Varanasi for Prime Minister's nomination filing, also said that the Opposition INDIA blocs lacks unity.
"The way the entire NDA has come together in support of the Prime Minister, that is our strength. On the other side, the Opposition is divided...," he told the news agency ANI.

PM Modi Prayed At Kaal Bhairav Temple Before Filing Nomination From VaranasiAhead of filing his nomination from Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also prayed at the Kaal Bhairav Temple in the city.
He was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh outside the temple.
It is believed that anyone who comes to Kashi (Varanasi) needs to seek permission from Kaal Bhairav for the visit.

Today also marks the auspicious day of Ganga Saptami and PM Modi participated in prayers and performed the Ganga Aarti at the Ghat. PM Modi will file his nomination papers from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat for the 2024 general elections, from where he has secured wins with large margins for the past two consecutive terms.
