- Statesman like speech by PM, not farewell speech
- Lokpal an idea whose time has come
- Most bureaucrats are capable and honest but in India, honest bureaucrats will be terrified by prospects of too draconian a bill
- We must not create a situation in which bureaucrats are compelled to do nothing
- We will only know to what extent we have avoided the dangers by the actual working on the bill
- We have heard nit-picks and legal sophistry, as the PM said... but we have not heard substance.
