Amid reports that the Delhi Police has granted permission to use the capital's Ramlila Grounds, the High Court asked why Anna doesn't move his protest there; verdict expected at 3 pm.  

The Maharashtra state sports department has denied permission to Team Anna to protest in sections of Azad Maidan.

Mumbai Police expects an average turnout of 30,000 people for Anna. The police has warned the Home Ministry that without this additional space in Azad Maidan, the crowds will spill onto the roads, causing a complete shut-down of South Mumbai on work days

Anna is unleashing a civil disobedience movement and wants people to court arrest to protest against the government for introducing a Lokpal Bill that he finds weak.

Team Anna finds itself pointing out that earlier versions of the Bill prepared by the government were more effective.

Like the BJP, he objects to the fact that the Lokpal Bill does not hand over administrative control of the CBI to the new ombudsman or Lokpal. Without this, his group says, the CBI will continue to be influenced in its investigations by the government.

The Bill will be debated on December 27 after which it will be put to a vote.
