After the listed business was transacted in the House, the session was adjourned indefinitely following acrimony, noisy scenes and sloganeering over the scam.

This is for the third consecutive time that the state Assembly session has ended abruptly over the multi-crore Vyapam scam. Before the Monsoon Session, the Budget and Winter sessions were also adjourned midway following din over the scandal.

As soon as the members assembled in the House for the third day of the Monsoon Session, four BSP members, sporting blue aprons trooped into the well demanding resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. They were joined by Congress members.

Amid the din, Speaker Sitasharam Sharma tried to start the Question Hour asking BJP member Narendra Singh Kushwaha to speak. But, Mr Kushwaha got upset as BSP members kept on shouting slogans.

An angry Mr Kushwaha left his seat and started walking towards the well. He was seen pointing his hand at his footwear which irked BSP and Congress members.

BSP and Congress members created a furore in the House stating that the act was unbecoming of a member.

In the meantime, state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra intervened and Mr Kushwaha returned to his seat. In the midst of uproar, the Speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes.

After the House re-assembled, the opposition and treasury benches indulged in trading charges against each other over the Vyapam issue, which resulted in another adjournment till
11.30 am.

When the situation did not improve despite the Chair's request, the Speaker, amid the din, transacted the listed business of the day, including financial bills.

Amid uproarious scenes, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister moved a motion, saying that since all listed official work has been completed, the House can be adjourned.

The Speaker then adjourned the House indefinitely.

Later, Congress members, led by Leader of the Opposition Satyadev Katare and senior MLAs, including Ajay Singh, Arif Aqueel, Mukesh Nayak and Jeetu Patwari, also staged a sit-in in the well of the House demanding Mr Chouhan's resignation.

After sometime, the Congress members came out of the House and staged a sit-in for a while at the entry of the main Assembly building, raising slogans against the Chief Minister.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister later told reporters that whatever happened in the House was very "undemocratic and unhealthy for democracy."

"We wanted to run the House, but the opposition wanted to remain in limelight and therefore kept raising the issue despite the fact that CBI is already probing the scam," Mr Mishra said.

Meanwhile, Mr Katare strongly condemned BJP member Mr Kushwaha's act.

"The act of BJP member is highly condemnable and Congress will not budge from its stand of demanding the Chief Minister's resignation on the Vyapam scam," Mr Katare said, alleging that BJP does not want to run the House.
