Ahead of the first International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held a preparatory session with his cabinet colleagues at his official residence in Bhopal.
Mr Chouhan, along with his ministers rehearsed the yogasanas (yoga postures) and exercises like pranayam and dhyan for about an hour.
The asanas rehearsed including greeva sanchalan (neck movements) and kati sanchalan (waist movements) and exercises of knees among others.
"Yoga should not be a one-day affair. It should be a part of daily life," Mr Chouhan told reporters after coming out of the hall where he held the yoga session.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur (85) and other ministers Paras Jain, Bhupendra Singh, Jayant Malaiya, Sartaj Singh, Umashankar Gupta, Gopal Bhargava, Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar, Narottam Mishra, Surendra Patwa, Lal Singh Arya, Deepak Joshi and Additional Chief Secretary S R Mohanthy participated in the session.
