Bhopal:
Madhya Pradesh has received a total of 656.7 mm rainfall so far in the ongoing monsoon season, which is the highest in the decade, according to Met office sources.
"Madhya Pradesh was expected to get a total rainfall of 989 mm during the entire monsoon season but the state has already recorded 656.7 mm of rainfall till last evening, which is highest in last ten years," they said.
On an average, Madhya Pradesh gets 389.8 mm of rainfall till July 27 every season which means the rainfall so far is around 68 per cent more, they said.
The weathermen also predicted heavy to very heavy showers across the state on Monday and Tuesday.
"Indore district has recorded the highest excess rainfall of 149 per cent in the state at 875.9 mm against the average of 352.3 mm. Similarly, Bhopal received 85 per cent excess rain at 743.3 mm surpassing the average of 400.8 mm till July 27," a met official said.
Ten districts including Indore, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Harda, Jabalpur, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Jhabua, Ratlam and Damoh have received over 100 per cent excess rainfall, whereas 37 districts witnessed 50 to 100 per cent excess rainfall and Anuppur, Dindori and Shahdol districts less than normal rainfall so far.
