Shirdi: Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil has alleged that the state government is "not keen" on nabbing the killers of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar and CPI leader Govind Pansare.
After Mr Dabholkar was gunned down during our government, there was criticism inside and outside the Legislature, but even the attackers of Mr Govind Pansare have not yet been arrested, the senior Congress leader told reporters in Shirdi yesterday.
"On one side the government is not keen on nabbing the killers of Dabholkar and Pansare, while on the other hand pressure is being mounted on government prosecutor to show sympathy towards the 2008 Malegoan bomb blasts accused Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Col Shrikant Purohit and others," he alleged.
Anti-superstition crusader Mr Narendra Dabholkar was shot dead in Pune on August 20, 2013.
Mr Pansare, a prominent anti-toll activist and rationalist, was shot-at in Kolhapur on February 16 this year. He died in Mumbai on February 20.
Meanwhile, Mr Vikhe-Patil met government officials and office-bearers of Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust in connection with the ongoing Kumbh Mela at Nashik as scores of devotees are expected to visit the Shirdi shrine on August 29 and 30 on 'Parvani' (special) days.
