Agra: The body of an Army officer killed in Kabul suicide attack on Friday was brought back to his hometown Agra late Saturday night.
Major Deepak Yadav from the Army Education Corps was sent to Afghanistan in March 2009 and was teaching English at the Afghan Military Academy.
His tenure in Afghanistan was to come to an end on March 25. Major Yadav is survived by his wife and 5 year-old son. A guard of honour will be given on Sunday.
"He has left a void. We will remember him always. He sacrificed his life for the country. The nation should be proud of him. We are proud of him and we can never forget him," said Vijay Yadav, Major Deepak Yadav's Uncle.
