West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee is perhaps getting her first serious taste of trolling.
Soon after controversy erupted over CBI raids on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's secretary Rajender Kumar, Ms Banerjee tweeted, "Sealing of a Chief Minister's office is unprecedented. I am shocked."
That went out at 11.18 am. Within minutes, Mr Kejriwal replied saying, "Mamata Di. This is undeclared emergency." Ms Banerjee retweeted that soon after.
By 6 pm, there were more than a thousand retweets of Ms Banerjee's original tweet, over 700 likes and innumerable replies. But many of them were far from flattering.
Priyaranjan Kumar had a short question: "Sharadha scam???"
Dhara and Akshaykhatwani said, "You are next".
Intolerant Hindu, tweeted, "Its CBI not Bengal police."
"Yup," tweeted Satyanweshi, "How can dey investigate delhi b4 they hv done Sharada.I am shocked 2.Ur number was before @ArvindKejriwal . Sympathies."
Nabanna is the state secretariat in Kolkata which houses Mamata Banerjee's office. And, the reference to Saradha isn't surprising. Just yesterday, the Trinamool Congress or TMC dumped its general secretary Shanku Panda hours after he was questioned by CBI on the Saradha scam and word was he named many other party leaders as beneficiaries of the chit fund group's largesse.
But the trolling did not stop there. Many took the opportunity to attack Ms Banerjee on the Park Street rape case. Last week, the court had declared three accused guilty of gang raping Suzette Jordan - an incident Ms Banerjee had called "sajano ghotona" or fabricated incident.
Wrote Anjali,"U hvn't apologized 2 #SuzetteJordan after d verdict. Even we r shocked! What abt that?
Anjali was not alone.
The tweet that perhaps tried to explain the harsh reaction was this:
