Nagrakata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said her government is setting up 65 all-woman police stations across the state to tackle crimes against women.
Addressing a rally in Jalpaiguri district in North Bengal, Ms Banerjee said "In Bengal there will be 65 all-woman police stations. Of them ten have already been set up."
Official sources said the sanctioned strength of these police stations was an inspector, eight sub-inspectors, eight assistant sub-inspectors and 30 constables.
After becoming the chief minister, Ms Banerjee had announced that to tackle the increasing number of crimes against women, she would set up all-women police stations across the state.
