Mamata Banerjee attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over currency ban.
Kolkata:
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ban on high denomination currency once again in Kolkata today. "The Prime Minister has lost the moral right to remain prime minister," she said.
Hours before Union Minister Arun Jaitley's press meet, Ms Banerjee said, "First the Prime Minister spoke of black money, now they will talk about digital economy. Who knows what next? In one month, 50 decisions. The government is derailed."
She also made it clear that the Goods and Services Tax Bill was in cold storage. "The GST is lost. When everything was final, there was no need for demonetisation. They have finished the issue.
Every issue they have finished. It's a disastrous situation," she said.
But right through the press meet, the Chief Minister peppered her potshots with what many are calling Mamata-isms. All of them are angry, but laced with sarcastic wit which may even make the object of her wrath break into a belly laugh.
Here are some samples.

- Alibaba, Galibaba. He is doing ads for somebody. It's a mystery. Ali Baba and his 40 - I won't say thieves -- but associates. What they are doing? It's chaotic.
- If he has broad shoulders, let him play Ravana. One doesn't need broad shoulders to be Prime Minister. You need broad shoulders for movies. Ravana had broad shoulders and a big chest. In movies, jatras, broad shouldered people have some roles. There is a big shouldered man doing a cement ad these days.
- Even after making a mistake, he is showing off his shoulders and chest. Let him sit under a tree and learn Rabindra Sangeet, then his mind will be at peace. Then boxers and wrestlers would rule the country. Wrestling against whom? The people?
- States won't be able to eat. Only he will eat at 7 RCR and no one else? Can that happen? Even sadhus won't be able to eat. One section of sadhus who had supported him, how will they are eat.
- There is a Bengali proverb: the mother of a thief shouts the loudest. He is thanking himself, thanking his chest and his shoulders.
- How can he say poor people will support him? Poor people are 100-day workers, not getting salary, industrial workers, not getting wages, kisans who can't show, tea garden workers, jute workers, jobless. If Modi had eyes, he could have seen. I don't know why the BJP is sleeping. They are scared. One day the truth will come out.
- I have talked about PayTM before. Why is he advertising for a private concern? It's got Alibaba who has 50 per cent ? China. In BRICS, he is saying act against China... you go find out more.
