Chennai: A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh by the Tamil Nadu police for allegedly posting peadophilic content on Facebook.
The accused had allegedly created at least four communities for paedophiles on the social networking site, where photos of minor girls were posted with sexually explicit comments. One of these communities had around 3,000 followers but has since been pulled down by Facebook following numerous complaints by residents in Chennai.
Police suspect that many of the pictures were drawn from photo albums of individual Facebook users.
Police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
