A man killed his wife and attacked his sons during a fight over the sale of their flat in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar on Tuesday, police said. The man, Neeraj, then stabbed himself. He died in hospital this morning.
Neeraj and his wife frequently fought, the police said. The woman wanted to sell the flat, which is registered in her name, but Neeraj didn't.
Last night, during another argument, Neeraj allegedly stabbed his wife. When his two sons, aged 8 and 12, tried to help their mother, he attacked them as well.
Then he used the knife to try and kill himself.
When the neighbours heard the commotion in the flat, they rushed in and alerted the police, who took the family to the hospital. Neeraj's wife was declared dead and he died this morning.
Police said that both the sons are out of danger.
