Five of a family have died in a massive fire that broke out in a residential building at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh early on Monday morning. Initial reports suggest that the cause of the fire could be cylinder blast. The building is in a crowded area in Ner Chowk. Several people who were trapped have been brought out say district authorities.
Three fire engines were sent within minutes of the accident.
More personnel have been sent for sanitizing the area said the district authorities. The District Magistrate of Mandi, Rugved Thakur is at the accident site. "The situation is under control and all help is being given to the effected, " Mr Thakur told NDTV on the phone. An investigation is being carried out to establish the exact cause of the fire said Mr Thakur.
