New Delhi:
The government is doing all it can to ensure flight safety and avoid another mishap like the Mangalore air crash in which 158 people were killed. In a bid to do so, the Civil Aviation Minister chaired a high-level meeting of senior officials on Tuesday to review aviation safety.
In the meeting, it was decided to set up a Civil Aviation Safety Advisory Council which will have experts like pilots, air traffic controllers, airport operators, and from the Indian Air Force, said sources.
The council will also have aviation medical specialists who can look into issues as pilot fatigue. Also, representatives from manufactures like Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier will be special invitees.
Apart from this, safety experts from regulatory bodies like FAA of the US, UK will also be invited to share their expertise.
The council will have its first meeting next week.
