Imphal: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today said a new bill on the Inner Line Permit would be introduced in the Manipur Assembly within three months.
Mr Singh assured the House that he would introduce a new Bill related to the implementation of ILP system, as desired by the people of Manipur, within three months.
The chief minister invited suggestions from general public, experts, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) and other civil society organisations, R K Bhagat Singh Liaison Officer (press/media), Manipur Legislative Assembly said.
Meanwhile, the state Assembly also withdrew the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers (MRVTMW) Bill, 2015.
While moving the motion for withdrawal of the MRVTMW Bill, 2015, which was passed in the house on March 16, the chief minister said the same Bill was sent to the President by the state governor for approval and that it has been lying with the President.
Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh had called the emergency sitting of the Manipur Assembly during the day to discuss the motion to withdraw the MRVTMW Bill, 2015.
The speaker adjourned the Assembly after the house unanimously passed the motion to withdraw MRVTMW Bill.
