New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today met President Pranab Mukherjee to brief him about his visit to South Africa to attend a five-nation summit on March 26 and 27.
The meeting comes a day before Dr Singh's departure for the summit of BRICS, which comprises of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, being held in Durban, according to PMO sources.
The prime minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Commerce Minister Anand Sharma and National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon on his four-day visit to South Africa.
He is expected to meet leaders of the BRICS countries, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of the summit.
