New Delhi:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh literally had a powerless moment on Wednesday at the launch of a conference on rural development in the capital.
Manmohan Singh was addressing a meeting of state rural development ministers when the power went off. Left in the dark, the prime minister, however, remained unfazed by the momentary interruption and went on with his speech, making a strong case for the rural poor and for the national rural employment guarantee scheme.
The power outage was brief and electricity supply was soon restored.
