Mann Ki Baat-Inspired TV Show For Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Devendra Fadnavis has launched a TV programme modelled after PM Narendra Modi's radio show Mann Ki Baat.

Highlights

  • Chief Minister gets ready to record Episode 2 of TV show
  • Invites questions over email, WhatsApp
  • Airs on Sunday, just like PM Modi's radio addresses
Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is gearing up for the second episode of his television show that sees him answering questions from people across Maharashtra. "Mee Mukhyamantri Boltoy" (This Is Your Chief Minister Speaking) debuted earlier this month and focused on farmers. Episode 2 concentrates on the youth in his state who can email him questions at mmb.dgipr@gmail.com or WhatsApp their concerns along with their photos to 829152952 by May 2.

Mr Fadnavis, 46, is believed to be inspired by the regular radio addresses of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which see the premier calling out individuals whose concerns or comments resonated with him. Like PM Modi's popular Mann Ki Baat, the Chief Minister's show airs on Sundays on DD Shaiyadri and the AIR station. The Chief Minister also tweeted the first one hour episode that was telecast in 2 parts.

The first episode reportedly saw nearly 18,000 questions in the Chief Minister's inbox.

Mr Fadnavis has been credited with delivering unprecedented results for his party in recent local body elections. Amid his big hauls was the BJP winning drought-hit Latur which had, till last week, only ever elected the Congress.

In February, he deftly "crowd-sourced" the BJP's manifesto through a web-cast for the prestigious and very rich corporation that runs Mumbai.
