Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday. They discussed the security situation in the Northeast where militants killed 18 soldiers on June 4.
"Mr Parrikar and Mr Singh met for nearly 20 minutes and discussed various issues regarding the security situation in the country," official sources said.
Mr Parrikar told reporters that he, being a Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh, discussed about developmental issues with Mr Singh, a former Chief Minister of the state.
After the June 4 incident, when militants had attacked an Army convoy killing 18 soldiers, the commandos of Special Forces carried out a strike inside Myanmar, killing several insurgents believed to be responsible for the deadly ambush in Manipur's Chandel district.
"Mr Parrikar and Mr Singh met for nearly 20 minutes and discussed various issues regarding the security situation in the country," official sources said.
