Ranchi : A police officer was abducted and shot dead by Maoists in Gumla district of Jharkhand, police said today.
According to the police, the bullet-ridden body of Badrinath Tiwari alias Vinod Tirkey, inspector at Chainpur police station, was found today.
Maoist pamphlets were also found near the body which was later sent for post-mortem, the police said.
Few years ago another inspector posted in Khuti district was abducted and beheaded by the Maoists.
