Giridih, Jharkhand:
Maoists blew up a school building at Manjiladih in Jharkhand's Giridih district, police said today.
A group of Maoists late last night triggered the blast, damaging the Manjiladih Primary School, district Superintendent of Police Ravi Kant Dhan said.
A police team has been rushed to the spot, he added.
Maoists have been attacking schools to prevent security forces from using them as shelters during their anti-Naxal operations.
According to reports, Maoists have also pasted posters in the district calling for a poll boycott.
Jharkhand goes for a five-phase election from tomorrow with assembly segments in Giridih district scheduled on December 2 and 8.
