New Delhi:
The Central government on Monday asked five states to tighten security and take maximum precaution during the 48-hour bandh called by Maoists beginning today.
Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have been advised by the Home Ministry to deploy adequate number of security personnel in sensitive areas and remain alert during the bandh period.
Railways have also been advised to run the trains in Naxal-affected areas in minimum speed to avoid possible sabotage by Maoists in railway tracks and bridges, sources said.
Additional security has also been provided to central government installations in Naxal-affected states.
