Malkangiri, Odisha: Nine persons were abducted by Maoists from the Mahupadar area of Malkangiri district, police said today.
A group of around 50 armed Maoists raided the remote village on Wednesday night and kidnapped seven persons from their houses, a police official said.
In a repeat strike last night, the Maoists again went to the village and carried away two persons with them.
Efforts are on to trace the kidnapped villagers, police said.
