Maoists kill JD(U) worker in Bihar

Gaya: Maoists, who abducted two JD(U) workers and later freed one of them on Saturday, killed the hostage in Bihar's Gaya district early on Sunday, officials said.

Heavily-armed ultras had on Friday night kidnapped Uday Prasad, the Dumaria Block JD(U) president, and his colleague Amrendra Prasad from Bijua Barwadih village, during campaigning.

The ultras had freed Prasad on Saturday, they said.

They killed Amrendra Prasad and threw his body on a school campus, about 7 kms from Dumaria police station, from where it was recovered early today, they said.

A combing operation has been launched against the ultras.
