Maoists slit teacher's throat in Orissa

Koraput, Orissa: Armed Maoists killed a teacher whom they suspected to be a police informer in Gotiguda village of the district, police said on Monday.

Over 30 Maoists came to the village, about 90 km from Koraput, last night and asked 35-year-old Ghasi Kendruka , a 'Sikshyasahayak' attached with a school, to come out of his house.

They took him to a nearby mango orchard and slit his throat, they said.

The rebels, who branded Kendruka a police informer and shouted slogans, left posters and letters claiming responsibility for the killing, they added.
