Ghaziabad: On Republic Day, the parents of Major Mohit, who is being presented the Ashok Chakra posthumously for the supreme sacrifice he made in Jammu and Kashmir, are unhappy.
Rajender and Shushila Sharma, parents of Mohit and residents of Sahibabad in Ghaziabad, were invited to the Republic Day celebrations.
Major Mohit died during an encounter with militants on March 21, 2009 in Kupwara.
The award was received by Mohit's wife who is herself a major and posted at Ambala Cantt.
