The BJP today launched a National Membership Drive with Prime Minister Narendra Modi enrolling himself as the first member of the party at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. Party president Amit Shah was also present on the occasion.

- BJP has given me immense pride by offering this opportunity. It's a matter of pride to become a member of such a party. I'm going to be the first member...it is "sone pe suhaga!"
- I know what it means to be a member of BJP. A BJP member has to fulfill society's expectations.
- Let's invite universities. Let them see how BJP is carrying out the membership drive.
- Our country is diverse. BJP should also be diverse. Everyone should feel like they're part of the BJP. Every section of society must feel represented.
- Important that we have horizontal (development of villages) as well as vertical development.
- There should be one BJP member in every Indian village. Right from a remote village in Andaman to Leh in Ladakh.
- Indian government has envisioned a 'Digital India'. Here 'Digital BJP' is being launched.
- This is a great effort, it deserves appreciation.
- There is a negative perception about politics. Politics isn't bad. If it was, Mahatma Gandhi would have never stepped into it.
- This should serve as inspiration to every political party
