A special MCOCA judge has been provided additional security following receipt of a threat to his life, sources said.
Special MCOCA judge Y D Shinde has been provided additional security by the police after he received a threat on Monday, they said.
They, however, did not elaborate on the nature of the threat and who had made it.
Shinde is presently conducting the trial in cases like the Malegaon blast of 2008, terror group Indian Mujahideen's involvement in sending threatening e-mails and other matters related to organised crime syndicates.
Incidentally, the Crime Branch of the city police had on July 10 arrested four alleged Chhota Shakeel gangsters who were planning to kill lawyers representing Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, one of the persons arrested for her alleged role in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.
